Major Capital Projects Engineer

Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. (6087-M) has been operating for more than a century in Malaysia and is looking forward to more exciting and challenging years ahead. We are a successful multi-national company involved in the manufacturing, distribution and selling of energy and petrochemical products.

The Major Capital Projects (MCP) group is responsible for the management and successful delivery of large and/or complex Retail engineering projects, which are beyond the scope of the local engineering teams. The MCP Engineer is responsible to bring superior project management skills & discipline to large and/or complex Retail engineering projects. In addition, he/she will be responsible to develop, maintain and share global best practices with regard to project/program management. This position reports to the Major Capital Projects Manager.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia




Responsibilities:

Develop project front-end specifications with initial design framework, cost estimates, implementation plans, risk assessments and obtain internal approvals for the project
Working as a key member of a project implementation team, lead the development of a robust detailed engineering project plan
Set up process and methodology to manage major projects to ensure that project team follow the process
Identify and develop contracting strategies including contracting and procurement, construction and regulatory approvals
Develop, initiate and manage implementation plan with suitable milestones and key performance indicators to monitor progress of project against agreed criteria
Manage project stakeholders during implementation and ensure the project deliverables are met and communicated
Requirements:

Possess minimum a Bachelor Degree qualification
Has at least 8 years of relevant working experience
Possess experience in managing key stakeholder relationships or an engineering consultancy background
Possess expertise and experience in project management techniques and methodology
Good communication (both verbal & written), negotiation and conflict management skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
A valid visa or authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for this position
The successful candidate will be expected to be travelling up to 50% of the time in this role
